Services
Engineering services from CLOUD AND KEY LTD
Each service below is described by its purpose, its typical scope and the deliverables produced. Services are often combined within a single engagement.
Overview
Seven areas of technical work
The list is deliberately concrete. Where a requirement falls outside these areas, we say so rather than adapting the description to fit.
Custom software development
Web application development
Cloud architecture and infrastructure
Systems integration
Business process automation
Quality assurance and testing
Technical maintenance and support
Service 01
Custom software development
Build an application around a specific operational process when existing products cannot represent it without distorting how the work is done.
Typical scope
- Process analysis and written requirements
- Domain and data modelling
- Backend services, business rules and permissions
- User interfaces for the roles involved
- Reporting, export and administrative tooling
Deliverables
- Source code in a repository owned by the client
- Data model and architecture documentation
- Automated tests covering core business rules
- Deployment and configuration instructions

Service 02
Web application development
Deliver browser-based applications that work across devices and remain maintainable as features are added over time.
Typical scope
- Interface architecture and reusable component library
- Responsive layouts for mobile, tablet and desktop
- State management, data fetching and error handling
- Server-side rendering where content must be crawlable
- Accessibility review of markup, focus order and contrast
Deliverables
- A documented component structure and styling system
- Responsive interfaces verified across common breakpoints
- Build and deployment pipeline configuration
- Notes describing state, routing and data conventions

Service 03
Cloud architecture and infrastructure
Design and operate hosting environments that can be rebuilt from configuration, observed while running, and recovered after failure.
Typical scope
- Environment topology and network design
- Infrastructure defined as versioned configuration
- Separate development, staging and production environments
- Logging, metrics and alerting
- Backup scheduling and tested restoration procedures
Deliverables
- Infrastructure definitions stored in version control
- A documented deployment procedure with a rollback path
- Monitoring dashboards and alert rules
- A written recovery procedure that has been exercised

Service 04
Systems integration
Connect applications, databases and third-party services so information moves between them reliably instead of being transferred by hand.
Typical scope
- Review of existing systems and available interfaces
- Interface contracts and data mapping
- Synchronisation or event-driven message flows
- Error handling, retries and reconciliation
- Monitoring of transfer volume and failure rates
Deliverables
- Integration services with documented contracts
- Field-level data mapping documentation
- Failure handling with visible, recoverable error states
- Operational guidance for investigating transfer issues

Service 05
Business process automation
Replace repetitive manual steps with scheduled or event-driven workflows that produce a consistent, auditable result.
Typical scope
- Mapping of the current manual process and its exceptions
- Identification of steps suitable for automation
- Implementation of workflows, triggers and schedules
- Notification and escalation for cases needing a person
- Audit logging of every automated action
Deliverables
- Automated workflows with documented triggers and conditions
- An audit trail showing what ran, when and with what outcome
- Defined manual fallback for exception cases
- Operational documentation for the people responsible

Service 06
Quality assurance and testing
Verify that a system behaves as agreed before release, and that previously resolved defects do not return.
Typical scope
- Test planning based on where failure is most costly
- Automated unit and integration tests
- Manual exploratory testing of real workflows
- Regression suites built from past defects
- Cross-browser and cross-device verification
Deliverables
- An automated test suite runnable in the build pipeline
- Documented test cases for critical workflows
- Defect reports with reproduction steps and severity
- A summary of what was verified before each release

Service 07
Technical maintenance and support
Keep a live system correct, current and adaptable after it has been delivered.
Typical scope
- Investigation and correction of reported defects
- Dependency, framework and platform updates
- Review of logs, error rates and resource usage
- Incremental changes as requirements evolve
- Periodic review of configuration and access
Deliverables
- An agreed handling process for reported issues
- Applied updates with a record of what changed and why
- Maintenance notes covering recurring operational tasks
- Regular summaries of system health observations

Engagement notes
How services are combined
Most projects draw on several of these services at once. A new application usually involves development, cloud infrastructure, testing and later maintenance; an integration project may include automation and monitoring.
Scope, sequence and deliverables are agreed in writing before implementation begins. Enquiries are handled by email at [email protected].
